▶ Le Marché est une activité de réseautage et une rencontre de professionnels réunissant notamment des artistes, commissaires, diffuseurs et journalistes d’ici et d’ailleurs, tous des spécialistes de l’art numérique, une occasion unique d’échanges et de rencontres, contribuant à créer une véritable synergie dans le milieu de l’art numérique. D’une part des artistes et organismes d’ici présentent leurs plus récentes réalisations. Puis des professionnels internationaux donnent, à leur tour, un aperçu de leur travail de commissaire et des activités de leur structure de diffusion.
▶ The Market is a networking activity and a meeting of professionals that brings together artists, curators, presenters and journalists from home and abroad, all specialists in digital arts. Local artists and organizations present their most recent works and projects, and international digital arts professionals offer an overview of their activities. Every year, the Market is a unique opportunity for exchanging ideas and meeting with other professionals, helping create synergy in the digital arts community.

▶ En ouverture du festival les 28 et 29 juin, ELEKTRA présentera la performance exceptionnelle INFERNO des artistes Louis-Philippe Demers et Bill Vorn. 49 personnes du public seront tirées au sort pour participer à la performance robotique INFERNO dans laquelle leurs corps seront contrôlés par les machines au rythme de sons et lumières, créant des chorégraphies improbables.
▶ Venez vivre une expérience hors du commun en devenant acteur de la performance de Louis-Philippe Demers et Bill Vorn.

▶ Opening the festival on June 28 and 29, ELEKTRA presents the incredible performance INFERNO by artists Louis-Philippe Demers and Bill Vorn.
49 audience members will be randomly drafted to be in the robotic performance INFERNO where their bodies will be controlled by machines to the rhythms of sounds and lights, in a synchronized choreography.

– Interactive piece A Truly Magical Moment by Adam Basanta (QC)
– The duo Purform, made up of Yan Breuleux and Alain Thibault (QC-CA) with Enigma, an audiovisual installation
– Japanese artist Hirakawa Norimichi (JP) will be featured with his large-scale audiovisual installation The Indivisible (Prototype No.1)
– Jaehyuck Bae and Junbong Song (KR) with their piece Light Wave and the robotic installation Chair Walker 2.0 by Korean artist YoungKak Cho (KR).

INVERSO MUNDUS AES+F

Cette installation du collectif russe AES+F, présentée dans le cadre d’ELEKTRA, réinterprète la société contemporaine en opérant une série d’inversions et en exploitant le thème de la mutation. Il en résulte une série de tableaux carnavalesques et surréalisants.
As a second pièce de résistance and a Canadian premiere, ELEKTRA will present, in coproduction with the Cinémathèque québécoise, the panoramic video installation Inverso Mundus by the Russian collective AES+F. Shown at the Venice Biennale in 2015, the piece was etched in viewers’ minds with its absurd interpretation of the medieval carnival in the contemporary world. Inverso Mundus presents emotionless humans, verging on humanoid, living in social utopias like zombies.
Inverso Mundus will be presented in Montreal at Cinémathèque Québécoise
as part of the ELEKTRA Festival.
