L’œuvre d’Eva Evrard propose une riche déconstruction du livre en tant qu’objet, forme et signe. Chaque livre constitue un dispositif voué à l’exploration formelle d’un concept unique et chaque fois différent. Par une approche
qui allie minimalisme, sculpture et rigueur conceptuelle, Eva Evrard développe sa propre syntaxe : un jeu entre des volumes et des espaces laissés vierges, entre le médium utilisé et les signes qu’il accueille.

La peinture de Thierry Grootaers procède d’un jeu de fragmentation : des « éclats » de culture pop sont projetés sur la toile, créant des scènes hallucinées dont le sens narratif reste en suspens. Grootaers pousse plus loin sa réflexion sur l’architecture déjà présente dans ses œuvres antérieures , jusqu’à proposer une peinture proprement sculpturale – ou serait-ce un jeu de faux-semblants, la surface picturale prétextant la profondeur du réel ?

Eva Evrard’s work proposes a rich deconstruction of the book as object, form and sign. Each book forms a device dedicated to the formal exploration of single concepts. Combining minimalism, sculpture and conceptual rigor, Eva Evrard develops her own syntax: an interplay between volumes and empty spaces, between the medium used and the signs it is meant to carry.

Thierry Grootaers’ paintings play out a form of fragmentation: splinters of pop culture are projected onto the canvas, creating hallucinatory scenes the narrative meaning of which remains unresolved. Grootaers pushes further his reflexion on architecture already prominent in previous works and goes as far as proposing a painting that is literally sculptural – or could it be a game of pretense, the pictorial surface claiming the same depth as the real?
