Alla sua IV edizione CODICE MIA è diventato un evento di riferimento per gli artisti mid-career che aspirano a un confronto diretto con esperti internazionali del collezionismo. A seguito di una rigorosa selezione 45 fotografi acquisiscono il privilegio di incontrarsi a tu per tu con collezionisti, art advisor e curatori di collezioni corporate e istituzionali provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Gli incontri hanno la forma tipica di una lettura portfolio, ma innovativa e unica nel suo genere è la scelta degli interlocutori. Infatti dall’altra parte del tavolo ci sono esperti del mercato della fotografia fine-art, coloro che decidono per la propria collezione privata o per collezioni aziendali e museali.

Il progetto CODICE MIA, ideato e curato da Enrica Viganò, ha ricevuto ottimi riscontri sia dagli artisti partecipanti sia dai reviewer coinvolti. Per i collezionisti la possibilità di scoprire autori che non conoscono, acquisire opere, supportare progetti, sostenere i fotografi è davvero elettrizzante. E per gli artisti l’occasione di scambiare idee, suggerimenti e informazioni con personaggi di tale calibro è sicuramente un vantaggio difficile da ottenere in altro modo.

CODICE MIA si avvarrà anche quest’anno della formula vincente messa a punto nelle edizioni precedenti. All’alto profilo dei reviewer invitati corrisponderà un livello altrettanto elevato dei partecipanti. Quindi un numero ristretto di fotografi (45) – attentamente selezionati dal comitato scientifico tra le richieste che perverranno –  potrà mostrare e raccontare il proprio lavoro agli esperti.

L’appuntamento con CODICE MIA si terrà nella giornata di sabato 30 aprile 2016, ognuno dei  partecipanti avrà l’opportunità di sottoporre i propri lavori a 4 dei prestigiosi conoscitori del mercato fotografico, in incontri della durata di 20 minuti ciascuno.

MIA Photo Fair offrirà anche un servizio di interpretariato per facilitare, in caso di necessità, la comunicazione con i reviewer stranieri.

L’evento sarà coronato da un premio all’autore che presenterà la ricerca visiva più significativa, per stile e  originalità nell’uso del linguaggio fotografico, selezionata dalla giuria composta da Enrica Viganò e da tutti gli esperti presenti. Al vincitore verrà riservato uno stand, a titolo gratuito, nell’edizione 2017 di MIA Photo Fair a Milano.

Il premio CODICE MIA 2015 è stato assegnato a Mauro Fiorese, che ha conquistato la giuria con un progetto dedicato ai depositi dei musei, in cui svela i segreti dei caveau delle grandi collezioni istituzionali. I suoi scatti saranno visibili nello stand di MIA Photo Fair 2016.

IV EDITION CODICE MIA PORTFOLIO REVIEW

At its fourth edition CODICE MIA has become a landmark event for the mid-career artists who aspire to establish a connection with international experts of collecting. Following a rigorous selection, 45 photographers will have the privilege of meeting face to face collectors, art advisor and curators of corporate and institutional collections from around the world.

The meetings have the typical form of a portfolio review, but innovative and unique is the choice of interlocutors. The reviewers are experts of the fine-art photography market, those who decide for their own private collection or for corporate and museum collection.

Conceived and organised by Enrica Viganò, CODICE MIA project has had overwhelmingly positive reviews from both participating artists and reviewers. For collectors the chance to discover artists, acquire works, support projects and endorse photographers it is really exciting. And for the artists the opportunity to exchange ideas and information with major personalities in the photography market is definitely an advantage hard to get otherwise.

CODICE MIA will once again be presenting the formula that has proven so successful in the previous editions. The high profile of the reviewers invited will correspond to an equally high level among the participants: a limited number of photographers (45) – carefully selected by the scientific committee among the applications received – will show and describe their work to the experts.

CODICE MIA will take place on Saturday 30^th April 2016. Every participant will have the opportunity to submit their work to 4 of the prestigious trendsetters of the photographic market, inmeetings lasting 20 minutes each.

MIA Photo Fair will also offer an interpreting service to facilitate, if necessary, communication with the foreign guests.

During the final phase of the event a prize will be awarded to the artist presenting the most interesting work, the jury – consisting of Enrica Viganò and all the reviewers – will select the artist that will show the most original style in the use of the photographic language. The winner will be granted a stand, free of charge, at the 2017 edition of MIA Photo Fair in Milan.

The CODICE MIA 2015 prize was awarded to Mauro Fiorese, who caught the eye of the jury with a series entitled Treasure Rooms, a survey in pictures disclosing the secrets inside the vaults of the great museum institutions. At MIA Photo Fair 2016, his pictures will be exhibited in a stand that is completely dedicated to his work.
